I submitted an app to O2 Litmus today, took me a good hour filling in the form, selecting the compatible handsets. A couple of hours later my Jar / Jad pair are rejected because there are no installation instructions.

1:

When I submitted the app, why did the online form not have a mandatory field for installation instructions?

Something along the lines of the "terms and conditions" copy and paste jobby would do, if you really really want instructions on installing an app on a phone. As an aside I expect that people who don't know how install an app on their phone will not bother visiting app shops anyway.

2:

Are installation instructions really needed for a Jar / Jad pair: I would have expected the customer clicks a little icon in your app shop, and job done.

3:

There is no clear way of taking my rejected app and adding the instructions. It looks like I have to go through the whole process, all over again. A real pain for an app that works on a lot of handsets.

Dear jleplat,

We are sorry for your application rejected, but we must follow the Litmus monitoring proccess. Installation instructions and description are requiered, especially in applications for sale, that is important information for customers.

I have just sent to your e-mail account the list of handsets and T&C text that you have introduced.

We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced.

Regards,

O2Litmus Support

Dear Leplat,

It is not necessary that you fill handsets list again, you should be able to edit your app in "My applications" menu.

I have sent you a e-mail explaining it in detail, too.

Sorry again for inconveniences.

Regards,

O2Litmus Support

Hi Jeplat,

Sorry you've been frustrated the process. I've raised the issue internally and we're going to review the process.

I'll keep you in the loop, and don't hesitate to give me a shout if you've got any thoughts!

Cheers

Adam
