FAQs

Premium Testing FAQ's

Q: Why is there a bidding system?

A: Bidding enables the market to set the price, and allows for fluctuation amongst global labour markets and download rates. It is truly the backbone of any crowd-sourcing process. And remember, you are under no obligation to accept a bid if you think you can get the work done for a better price.

Q: Can I use Premium Testing for market research purposes?

A: O2 Litmus members are mobile-savvy early adopters. They are an ideal source for input on your app. You can post a market research survey just as you would post a test case, and gain insight on whether or not they would use your app, their opinion on the user interface, what they might be willing to pay for the app, plus much more. As with any Premium Testing project, you can accept as many bids as you want; this is a fast and inexpensive way to conduct market research.

Q: How much does an average Premium test cost?

A: Because Premium Testing uses a bidding process, there really is no average cost. Members will send bids based on how long they think it will take to conduct the test, and what, if any, download costs are included. A simple ping test will clearly be less than something requiring more effort. We suggest you post a project and watch the bids come in; you have no obligation to accept a bid, but you will likely see the advantage of using Premium Testing for your testing requirements.

Q: How do I pay the tester?

A: All payments are handled through PayPal. In order to accept a bid and begin a testing project, your funds must be received by our Premium Testing partner, Mob4Hire. Once the member has completed the tests and sends the results, those funds will be automatically released to the member within five days by Mob4Hire, you do not have to do anything.

Q: What if I am unhappy with the results of the test?

A: The five day period gives you time to review and reject the results – in which case you would contact our Premium Testing partner, Mob4Hire, and they will mediate between the two parties.

Q: How does your Premium Testing partner, Mob4Hire, monitor quality?

A: Developers rate each member testing, on a scale of one to five, after every project is finished. The rating system quickly reveals who provides the best service. Also, if the quality is lacking in a specific project, you are able to reject the results within five days.

Q: How can I ensure confidentiality?

A: You can request that the member sign the same non-disclosure agreement you would use with any other outside consultant.

Q: What if I have to communicate with the member?

A: Each project has its own forum hosted on the O2 Litmus site where you and your testers can communicate. These are private forums available only to the developer and the selected testers.

Q: Will I always get rated on my performance?

A: Yes. Premium Testing requires all members to rate you on a scale of one to five once the project is completed, based on the clarity of the test plan and your responsiveness on the project forum. You also have the opportunity to rate the tester in terms of how successfully they completed the tasks in the test plan.

Q: What if I am unhappy with a review that I received?

A: If you think you've received an unfair review, you can contact our Premium Testing Partner, Mob4Hire. Note however, that ratings are from one to five; the more tests you run, the less impact one bad review will make on your overall score.

Q: What if I want to hire the tester directly?

A: This is not permitted under the terms and conditions of usage of the Premium Testing service.

Q: Who are Mob4Hire?

A: Mob4Hire are an innovative, award winning, crowd sourced testing company that had the brain child for this method of incentivising mobile phone users to help test apps for money. You can check them out here: http://www.mob4hire.com/
